I purchased this item for my trip. I was thinking of also getting the sim card but decided to go with a plan my Verizon account had and this Wi-Fi to compare. I was completely satisfied with this router. If I visit Japan in the future again I will definitely purchase this again and skip my phone package. I only lost connection when traveling on the train through tunnels but thats expected with any device. So, in other words I highly recommend this device for fellow travelers. It was also easy to return with the prepaid\addressed envelope that I put directly in the post office box at Narita when I left.

Order online, pickup at the airport, drop in a mailbox after rental. What could be easier? Had 3 family members using the modem simultaneously and it saved us individual phone fees. Will do it again next time I visit Japan.

Great company! WiFi service was great my entire stay not once did I have problems with connecting to the internet. Highly recommend to use Japan Wireless you will not regret it.

Very useful

Fast, efficient, reliable service. Arrived in Tokyo and had the pocket WiFi plus accessories and return material waiting at my hotel for me. Took less than a minute to setup and we were off and running with two connected devices for the next three weeks. We traveled between Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka without having spotty service at all. Made our travel with a four year old who must have his YouTube videos much smoother. After everything was done we just dropped the return package in a post box at the airport and boarded our flight home. Couldn’t be any easier. Thanks Japan-Wireless!! We’ll be using you again soon!

Having this device was a great resource to us! We had it for 10 days, it came with an extended battery pack, USB cable, and the wifi-router. Connecting to it was simple and the battery on the router lasted literally all day. We would have it on from 8am to 8pm, using it throughout the day for map access and looking up restaurants to eat at and the battery life was still over 25% by the time we got back to our hotels. Great service for a great price, wouldn't hesitate to purchase again. The only thing i would note is that the image posted online was not the same as the device we were given, but it didn't deteriorate from the service it provided us. Thanks!
