We both had our phones linked all day and never had a slip in coverage, but we did turn it off overnight while charging so we didnt overuse the data. If we travel back to Japan, this will be the first thing we book!

I’m a big fan of pocket wifi while on vacation, since it greatly reduces the stress of traveling. Japan wireless makes it very convenient; I order the wifi at home, receive it right at the hotel reception, and can drop it off again at the airport upon leaving. The wifi comes with charger and backup battery; I even play it safe and bring my own backup battery so one battery is always ready in my purse when when the other is charging, and I am never stranded. While I love physical maps, traveling in a country with very little language knowledge is so much easier with reliable wifi, and Japan wireless has been my go-to wifi Provider on every trip!
