I have been using Japan wireless everytime I went to japan for many years. I usually reserve a premium pocket wifi in US where I live and pick up at the location in Japan where I specified. It is very reliable and works very well. I have a cell plan to cover in Japan but this service is less expensive and can connect to multiple devices to share with my family members to travel with.

I live in upstate NY. Whenever I travel in Japan, I pick this pocket Wifi at Haneda Airport. Easy to use and battery life is longer than I expect. I do not want to travel in Japan without it.

The experience was very easy and convenient with airport pick up and drop off. The only issue was that it did not come with the appropriate chord to charge the unit, fortunately I had one with me to use. I would still recommend to anyone traveling to Japan. Arigato gozaimasu

Came on a 2 week vacation, I basically had this device on and in use for more than 90% of my time there. The other 10% was charging it and going to sleep. The service was strong and available basically everywhere I went (excluding some remote country-side regions, obviously) and was extremely reliable. I even used it when my airbnb Wi-Fi failed me. I don't think I would've been able to gather the info and travel as efficiently as I did without having this granting me internet access so easily. Plus it also helps speed up sending photos to the other people I was travelling with, ease-of-communication.
It did have extreme slow-downs 1 day throughout the entire trip, but everyone else was experiencing it too on their devices, so it's possible it was just an issue with Japan's infrastructure at the moment. Either way, absolutely no reason not to get one.
