I've never used a pocket WiFi before. I must admit, it was very useful. As advertised, the signal was excellent. I went from Osaka to Kyoto to Nara to Wakayama and always had connection. There were a few times where the gadget has overheated and shutdown. But other than that, I had constant signal no matter where I was. A few times it decided to let my hotel WiFi to take priority. In other words, except for overheating and shutting down, the battery last a good few hours of constant browsing, the signal is perfect all the time, speed is decent. I'd say, it's a solid 4.8/5 stars. Minus 0.1 for randomly letting other WiFi connections to take priority and minus 0.1 for overheating.

Wi-Fi when traveling, Japan is an absolute must, this was the most valuable item in our backpack. Every single day we left the hotel. It's a must for your vacation to Japan!

Dealing with Japan wireless couldn’t have been easier. We had arranged for it to be delivered to our hotel and was waiting for us at check-in & we dropped it off at airport in prepaid satchel on our way home. We had WiFi everywhere we went - no glitches!

My wife used this throughout our 3 week trip Japan. I used an eSIM. She had much better coverage with your device than I did.

Works as promised...

I can highly recommend this service, which we required at short notice having arrived in Japan and discovering the wifi in our apartment was not as promised. I ordered online on a sunday and was able to pick the unit up within the our at Narita airport. The unit was very easy to setup and the addition of the portable power pack meant we could keep wifi services for the kids all the time whilst we travelled around. I also appreciated the simple return system. The company provides a pre-paid envelope and you put all of the kit into it and drop it into a post box.
