I used this Device throughout my stay in Japan. Traveled from Tokyo all the way to Ōsaka with daily use. The speed was fast and reliable. A few times it was slow in Osaka but not too bad. My only complaint is that the battery of the device does not last the 10 hours of use as advertised. Maybe every 4 hours or so I had to plug it in on charge more. They did provide a portable battery pack to use but it would of been nice if I could of used it all day on one charge. I started everyday at 100% and just let it in my bag.

The internet connection is fast and reliable in Tokyo. The only downside is, it didn't work for me in Hakone.

I would definitely get this again and recommend it to friends. It was so handy to have, especially if you’re navigating around. It made it easy to google places to eat too which was nice. The battery life was good, we had 3 people using it and it lasted all day. The battery pack they include was very handy for our own phones and also heavier use days. Very happy with how easy it was to return too! Extremely convenient.

It was great except the battery life seemed very limited.

Coming from the US with Verizon service, we did not want to use the $10/day/phone for 2GB roaming service. The Japan Wireless option is much more economical (~$5/day over 6 weeks--with up to 10 devices attached) and has no data limit. It works beautifully. We have no problem streaming movies/TV and at the same time Facetiming, with 4 devices connected. We used it in remote parts of Japan to find our way with Google Maps while driving, and always had a good signal. We only lost the signal in long tunnels. The device fits in my pocket, and has so far lasted all day, so I haven't had to use the backup battery. The pickup process from Narita airport post office (on the 4th floor if you are coming in internationally) was quick and easy, and, bang, we were connected. Best experience with connectivity while traveling ever!
