We used it during our trip in Japan last June and it is just amazing. Easy to set up, efficient, reliable, extremely useful. An absolute must, much more efficient than a sim card. its not cheap, but its worth every penny.

So many options for having continued service while traveling in Japan, but Japan Wireless’ Pocket WiFi was definitely THE best option for my family of 4!! Price is absolutely affordable to have WiFi 24/7 on 4+ devices while we are here for 36 days! Battery life is outstanding, even with all of us on the WiFi all day and night ( I have 3 kids, all on their iPhones, watching Netflix on their laptops, Nintendo Switches playing games, etc) if we are out and about, Japan Wireless’ price Includes a portable battery charger, unlike the competitors who charge a daily separate fee. If you won’t be near an outlet for 4+ hours the portable charger is a life saver!

We landed at Haneda & followed the instructions to their booth and picked up the package with everything included without any problems. Just needed my passport to show proof with my name on it. From Tokyo, we traveled south to the smaller towns like Atami (got lost driving some crazy mountain road in the middle of nowhere! Thank god we had WiFi connection the whole time to reroute us back to civilization!) , Shizuoka, and never had a problem connecting. For around $150 for 36 days, sure beats paying Verizon $10 per day for 4 devices!

Return is super easy, just pack every item that you received on the first day in the envelope provided and drop off at any mailbox! My only issue was when my older kids wanted to explore and they couldn’t take the WiFi with them- I will probably rent 2 devices next time for those days! I did a lot of research and compared a lot of companies- by far Japan Wireless was the best bang for your buck & extremely reliable!!
