The experience is very smooth and the speed is very decent. The battery can usually last for the whole day. Will definitely rent again if I visit Japan in future.
Product：Premium WifiA must if you can't get an eSim because your phone is still carrier locked or you just prefer to have a personal/group WiFi. WiFi unit is small, easy to use with a LCD screen clear to read so you know it's battery status, and adds very little bulk to your pocket/crossbody/backpack as you explore. Connection was strong throughout my time with it and as I traveled across Japan on the shinkansen to Osaka and Hiroshima, and the many stations around Tokyo because you will absolutely have Google Maps on to help you get on the right platform, train, etc. Overall I was very impressed by the service, quality and speed of the personal WiFi. Highly recommended.
Product：Premium WifiEasy pick up and drop off and the device worked great the entire time
Product：Premium WifiWifi was great and had good coverage in most places. However, the battery pack they provided would not charge the device, even with a different cord than provided. Not the biggest complaint, as it would last an almost full day of usage.
Product：Premium WifiI chose this wifi based on @thetokyochapter recommendation. It was easy to order in advance and then to collect and turn on immediately at Narita Airport before heading to our hotel in Tokyo. The wifi modem had good battery life and service everywhere across Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. The only issue we had was that the powerbank did not work, but we ended up not needing it anyway.

The pocket WiFi worked as intended. There were a couple of moments when the unit rebooted on its own, and we lost connectivity at those times. Other than that, it performed well.
Customer service replied quickly when I had questions. Easy to return everything using the provided packaging.

At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the moments when the pocket WiFi rebooted on its own and interrupted your connection. While units occasionally run automatic firmware updates or system refreshes, a sudden reboot during travel can certainly cause frustration. Used this Wi-Fi egg for 2 weeks while in Japan. This is a must-have for anyone who doesn't have international service. Much easier than changing your SIM.
