In our previous trip to Japan we decided for you thanks to the recommendation of Japonismo and we had a pleasant experience, and this second time without problems, we never ran out of signal.

I'm not sure if I got a unit with issues but sometimes the reception would not work and it'll disconnect. I had to restart it several times for that matter. Also, and I think it's very important. I found out the unit gets really hot, to the point where I could feel the temperature through my jeans whenever I put in my pocket and had to take it out right away; because of this I was really worried to put in my backpack or purse sometimes, I was checking on it constantly.

It was nice to have a portable WiFi connection, but the issues above made me wonder if there was a better way for me to get connected without having to be worried about something else during my trip like a unit exploding on me of catching fire :(

Everything was very easy. We picked up the package at the post office in Narita and had it working in minutes. We used multiple phones and computers with it no problem at all. They included an extra battery as well so going a full day with lots of use was no problem. No reason to use hotel wifi or anything else. Our USA Verizon phones even made/received calls.

We rented our pocket wifi for 9 days - we stayed in Tokyo and traveled to Osaka without any connection issues on our trip. Battery life was great! We used it daily from 7am till about 5pm when we needed to charge it again. A power bank was provided, however it didn't really seem to work well but we had our own. Our Anker power bank fully charged the wifi router in 1 hour and it was good to go well into the night/early morning.

We did get a message on the WiFi router and because I am overly cautious, used googles translate app to read it - it was a warning about exceeding the data usage. Contacted Customer Service and was assured that the message did not apply to me and to disregard any further messages about the issue. So no problems what so ever! We truly did have unlimited wifi and our speeds were never slowed down! I'll purchase again for our next trip and highly recommend!

I recommend this product a 100%, without it, it would be impossible to travel in Japan. You need internet to know where to go, which train to take, etc. Every cent is worth it, and it came with a back up battery. It always worked, and all my family could access internet all time.

This device made travel in Tokyo easier in so many ways. From navigation, translation and other info via apps it was the best value. Also shipment was on time and easy. One of the few things in technology/communications that delivered exactly as promised.

I rented the premium wifi for the first time last month for 2 weeks. Delivery to the hotel was hassle free. Wifi connection was wonderful and I was able to use it to guide my way around Japan. The only problem I had was that a couple of days, the battery ran out before the day is over. Thank goodness for the extra battery charger supplied. Thank you japan- wireless. Will definitely use it again when I return to japan.

This pocket WiFi was a life savor. It lasted 7+ hours without charging and kept two iPhones connected the entire trip. The external charging device was useless because it took 4+ hours to charge and didn’t charge the pocket WiFi all the way. So bring your own external battery!
