Fantastic service!

Used Japan Wireless for a week...my pocket WiFi was indispensable! It was very easy to use. Other than a few occasions when I lost signal (going through a tunnel or lost GPS connection going through some buildings) WiFi worked great! The times when I lost connection was brief and it either connected automatically or I had to go back to the pocket WiFi SSID window and then reconnect to the WiFi.

I found the using Google maps drained my phone battery a lot. The pocket WiFi itself probably lasted about 8 hours with no recharge. Therefore, external battery was a must to have. Unfortunately, the battery pack that came with the unit was not good and not recharging my devices well. I'm sure I could've asked for a better one but since I had my own I didn't bother. I highly suggest bringing your own with dual USB ports so you can charge both your phone and the pocket WiFi on the go.

Overall, I am happy with Japan wireless and will not hesitate to rent it again when am in Japan!

Will use this for a month in total. It has been great. Battery life is better than the Android Smartphone I am using. Spare power pack is useful. I would highly recommend to another traveler and it is a better price than others I researched. Note that you cannot get a Japanese phone number unless you are a Japanese citizen or have an extended visa. I'm told that if you also have a tourist (data) SIM card you can use it for VOIP calls through the WiFi device. Having the data SIM cards means you have a number so the system can serve your phone. This will be your (VOIP) phone number.

It does what promised. Sometimes you will have to charge throughout then day.

Worked perfectly during our 2 weeks in Japan. Always connected, always high speed.
The pack was waiting for us at our first hotel. Easy to send back at end of our trip.

I have very good experience with wifi router, very good speed with true unlimited data. Real speed up to 90 Mbit.

I went to Japan for 2 weeks during the cherry blossom season and decided to use this service for internet access. I was very glad with this decision. This product was so easy to set up and also very convenient. I went to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe during the 2 weeks and never once did the pocket Wi-Fi failed to work. The connection was always fast even under ground in Tokyo subways. I would highly recommend this product.

I rented it online a few weeks before my visit. Picked it up at the arrival terminal at Haneda and enjoyed free, fast and problem free 4G wifi connection for two weeks. I shared it with my wife the whole time and we were both posting a lot of images and videos on social media. The wifi worked just great. The wifi connection was even better than the local wifi provided by the hotel, so we ended up using this instead. It worked great in both Tokyo and Kyoto - and on the Shinkansen train. The battery lasts long but you will need to use the external battery as well for a full day / late night out. I recommend it to everyone travelling togheter or to someone who needs more than one connected device. Single people with single device might be better of with a sim card.
