We pre-booked a Japan Wireless portable WiFi router with unlimited data for our family of four during our trip to Japan, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Since we were always travelling together, sharing one device was far more convenient and cost-effective than opting for individual eSIMs.

Collection was seamless—we picked it up right after exiting the arrivals hall at Tokyo Haneda Airport. The router came neatly packed in a slim, compact pouch along with a power plug, charging cable, and even a portable power bank, making it incredibly easy to carry around throughout the day.

The connection was reliable, and managing usage was simple. We would switch off the router in our hotel rooms and connect to the hotel WiFi instead, which helped conserve battery. Charging both the router and the power bank overnight ensured we were always ready to go the next day.

The return process was just as smooth. Everything was placed back into the pre-addressed envelope provided, and we simply dropped it into a post box at Haneda Airport before heading through security.

Overall, a hassle-free, efficient, and highly practical solution for staying connected while travelling as a group in Japan. Highly recommended!

We traveled all over Japan and the mobile WiFi network was stable and reliable, even going through some of the long tunnels on the bullet train. The only down side was, we are a family of 3, if one of us wanted to go elsewhere, we lost connection. So on that one, if we go again, we’ll definitely use a Japan wireless eSIM.

Easy to get, easy to use, easy to return - perfect!

We used the hotspot for two weeks in Tokyo and Kyoto areas and it was excellent. I highly recommend it. Ample bandwidth for two phones and streaming video. We had a slight problem connecting initially but followed the troubleshooting information provided with the device and were able to connect afterward with no further issues.

WiFi was excellent. Pickup and drop off was perfect. Super easy and efficient. Highly recommend!
