Easy airport pick up and drop off. Device worked perfectly and had reliable signal throughout our trip in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. We had two devices constantly connected to the WiFi every day without issues. Suggest having two battery packs if you’re going to be out from morning to night.

As I was traveling with 2 devices, I opted for the pocket wifi with unlimited access instead of individual roaming plans limiting me to 3-5 GB for the whole trip or getting separate SIM cards. Experienced smooth access with no drop in service. The battery was long-lasting and I never had to use the included portable charger. My traveling companions also shared the signal with no issues.
Collection and return at Fukuoka Airport was simple.
Only negative was having to carry an extra item in the bag, but it is very small and light. I am very likely to use their service for future trips to Japan.

We had no issues at all. Battery lasted all day while we were out and it was nice to know we had the backup charger. We were worried about drop off but it was all made so easy. Would highly recommend and use again.

I've used Japan wireless on multiple trips to Japan and was always connected. This time we went to Kyoto, Nara, Beppu, Hakata, Osaka, and Tokyo and I never had an issue. Solid and fast connection and no issues. I never had an issue with Japan Wireless.

This device is awesome for staying connected and have access to useful sites and tools that will definitely make your trip flow easily. If carrying another gadget is your concern, is not that heavy, nor the powerbank that comes along with it. Just put it on a sandwich-sized ziplock (because it does fit on one) and you are ready to go for the day. The battery of the device(charged fully overnight) lasted about 14 hours when using it for maps, translation, bank transactions, and whatsapp on three mobiles connected. It lasted a little more, if you are not using that much or often. Definitely and option when a mobile is not compatible with eSIM and you don't want a physical SIM either.
