If you are planning on going to Japan definitely pick this up. It was so convenient to have WiFi everywhere for directions and translation. I just kept it in my backpack and it would last the entire day on a single charge no problem. I never had any dead zones. It's cheap to rent and comes with a prepaid envelope to just drop in a post box to return. There is a convenient post box at the airport as well.

My pocket wifi worked out of the envelope - so on my way into Tokyo from the airport i could check train times and plot my trip to the hotel. It enabled me to navigate and search wherever i was - it opened up Japan for me. It also worked perfectly with my pocket translator - giving me real time translations for chatting and restaurant menus. Totally invaluable.

This is the best option if your travelling for a few days and you don't want to purchase a whole sim card. It came on time and it worked smoothly

We were very satisfied with the Wifi. It was working very well all the time, we were using it every day from the morning till the evening and it was still some battery life left. We never used additional battery provided.
