We had 3 weeks in Japan travelling between Hiroshima in the West to Tokyo in the East and including some remote areas along the Nakasendo. After connecting in Osaka after arrival all worked well providing map access virtually everywhere. We had a connection problem when moving from near Nagano to Tokyo but this was fixed very promptly by email. Good system which I will use again.
