Navigating Japan can be daunting and you definitely need mobile data to help with directions, language and communication but roaming charges are insane unless you get an esim from these guys. For less than my UK company charged me for one day, Japan Wireless provided me unlimited data for 11 days. When I struggled to get it working they were really quick to respond and helped me sort it out. Excellent support (in English when needed) and great follow up to ensure I was getting the service I paid for. Full recommendation from me.
