The eSIM setup in my iPhone was easy and effortless. I purchased and setup the eSIM a day before my flight. As soon as I landed, I turned on my phone and was up & running immediately. Most of the time I was on 4G but did see an occasional 5G connection. Connection was stable throughout the Tokyo area. Please be sure that your iPhone is unlocked with your home provider first or else you won’t be able to install the eSIM.
