Though I activated my eSIM in advance while still in my country, but I did not start using the data till I reached Japan, The service worked for full 15 days of my stay in Japan (I had bought a 15 day plan). The service was also very good. I recommend using Japan Wireless eSIM for visit to Japan.

Although 5G access wasn't consistent, I always had a solid connection, occasionally at 4G or LTE speeds. Coming from Canada on the Rogers network, this saved me $11 per day on roaming fees. Would recommend for anyone visiting Japan. Cheers!
