However because all of my accommodation had wifi, I would go with a lower amount of GB in the future. Mine was a data only sim, and so I couldn't make calls or text, but just used a wifi app, so all worked well. My husband got a Japanese sim, with a number, which was useful in a couple of places when they needed a phone number. We travelled quite widely, Tokyo and headed south, and had no problems. One thing I missed was the ability to see how much data I had left, but once I enabled my phone to keep track (in my settings) that worked well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our ride & the Wifi connection board shinkansen. It was smooth & effortless.
Nothing special to report other than this service provided the 5g service I needed almost everywhere I went in Japan. In the areas where the service was a little slower it still worked better than the free service my home provider gives with my normal plan. I’ll use it again when I visit in the future.

Aside from the noticeable slowdown when there's only 3GB left and the disappearance of GPS when underground, service was excellent all around and I would use this eSIM again :)
