QR code made it simple to setup eSim. Used across Osaka and Kyoto and also while travelling on trains including Shinkansen and Haruka Express.
As first time visitor to Japan I looked around at various eSIM data offerings. Being here for 3 weeks I wanted to be sure to have enough data to use my iPhone extensively. OK I overshot. After 2 weeks I used 11GB of my 50 GB. Had always good 4G connectivity. Only drawback it does NOT let you use the iPhone as hotspot which would at times been useful with the iPad.
Easy to set up. It was nice to have the data available right away at the airport.
